‘Bye Bye Tokyo’ was inspired by a trip to Japan taken by synth-pop duo The Ghost Of Helags. They explain that the track was “written on the airplane on the way home from Tokyo. While everyone was sleeping, there was this unreal vibe of being amongst hundreds of silent people in a bubble of sound high above the clouds.” The dreamy landscape of the track mirrors this influence, with insistent hi-hats, reverb-heavy synths and washes of noise combining into a masterpiece of cinematic electronica. Their album, We Came From The Stars, is due for release on March 12^th, 2021. -Dan Peeke
